Valeriah Ann Holmon, FNP-BC

She received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing from Alcorn State University in Lorman, MS, her Master’s of Science Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Post Masters Certificate in Nursing Education at Saginaw Valley State University. Her career in nursing spans 25 years in areas including operating room nurse, surgical services education coordinator, orthopedic and neurology nurse and her current position as a Nurse Practitioner at Matrix Pain Management Clinic. She is also adjunct faculty at SVSU, & serves as a mentor in the LEAD-RN program.

Her extracurricular works include: elected representative for the East Region on the Blue Care Network Health Insurance Board of Directors, worked as a volunteer coordinator of church blood drives in conjunction with the Ernie Wallace Blood Bank, & member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Other professional and social affiliations include: Michigan Council for Nurse Practitioners, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, & the American Society of Pain Management Nurses.

She was awarded the King-Chavez-Parks Future Faculty Fellowship Award in 2005 by Saginaw Valley State University, & the Nurse Scholar FUND project award in 2007.

Valeriah loves her family, is a hard worker, and believes in giving back to the community in whatever small way she can. She also enjoys sewing when she can find the time.
